Open germicidal UV-C lamps disinfect by irradiating an empty room and require strict protection from direct exposure. MF33 follows a different concept: its UV-C source is enclosed inside the device, while a fan continuously draws room air into the protected internal chamber.
The air passes through the UV-C treatment zone and is returned to the room. This makes MF33 practical as a supplementary point-of-use air-treatment device in smaller spaces where portability, simplicity and quiet operation matter.
253.7 nm UV-C technology
UV-C around 254 nm is widely used in germicidal applications because an adequate UV dose can disrupt the genetic material of microorganisms and prevent replication.
MF33 uses a 253.7 nm UV-C source inside its enclosed chamber. Actual effectiveness depends on microorganism type, UV dose, exposure time, airflow and real room conditions.

Why the enclosed design matters
MF33 is not designed to shine UV-C radiation openly across the room. The UV-C source stays inside the protected internal chamber, while the fan moves air through that treatment zone. This makes the operating concept fundamentally different from open germicidal fixtures intended for use in empty rooms.
Portable by design
No separate base, hose or external power cable is required. Plug it directly into a suitable wall socket and move it to another room when priorities change.
Quiet enough for everyday use
The internal fan maintains airflow through the treatment chamber while keeping the device suitable for bedrooms, bathrooms and working spaces.
Performance depends on time and room conditions
Existing product test data for MF33 reports more than 90% reduction of tested bacteria and viruses after 1 hour in a 3 m² test space. For a 10 m² space, the product guidance specifies at least 2 hours of continuous operation.
These figures are test-condition results rather than a universal guarantee for every microorganism or room. Actual performance depends on room volume, airflow, contamination level, positioning and operating time. The product is positioned for rooms up to approximately 20 m², with longer treatment time expected as room size increases.

MF33 is a supplementary air-treatment device and does not replace ventilation, routine cleaning, source control or other appropriate hygiene measures. For professional, medical or regulated environments, follow the relevant facility protocols and applicable requirements.
